Product Certification
IPEMA provides a product certification program which validates a participant’s product(s) for conformance to certain ASTM standards. Certification seals are made available to participants in the certification program. IPEMA members who do not participate in the certification program may not use any of the IPEMA certification seals. IPEMA Certifications
ASTM F1487-25
IPEMA certifies to ASTM F1487‐25 (excluding sections 7.1.1, 10, 11.2, 11.3, 13.1.1., 13.1.2, 13.2 and 13.3) Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use.
CSA Z614:20 Update No. 1
IPEMA certifies to CSA Z614:20 Update No. 1 (excluding clauses 10 and 11) Children’s Playspaces and Equipment.
ASTM F1292-22
IPEMA certifies to ASTM F1292-22 Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surfacing Materials within the Use Zone of a Playground.
ASTM F3351-19e1
In the interest of public playground safety, IPEMA provides a third-party certification service whereby TÜV SÜD American uses this test method to determine the shock absorption properties of a playground surface at a specific impact height in order to evaluate a particular playground surfacing system using the g-max and HIC values described in Specification F1292.
ASTM F2075-20
IPEMA certifies to the ASTM F2075‐20 Standard Specification For Engineered Wood Fiber for Use as a Playground Safety Surface Under and Around Playground Equipment. Certification to this Standard includes conformance to the current ASTM F1292 standard, and is validated as explained in the paragraph related to ASTM F1292.
ASTM F3012-22
IPEMA certifies to the ASTM F3012‐22 Standard Specification For Loose‐Fill Rubber for Use as a Playground Safety Surface under and around Playground Equipment. Certification to this Standard includes conformance to the current ASTM F1292 standard, and is validated as explained in the paragraph related to ASTM F1292.
